Rooms appear dated and need modernization!!! Poor internet connectivity diminishes the experience!!! The pool area is not just neglected but also overpriced for what it offers!!!

Location is great across from Nijo Castle. Shuttle service to Kyoto Station eases travel around the city. I enjoyed the breakfast, filled with quality options and a mix of Western and Japanese dishes. The lobby has a pleasant vintage feel, decorated beautifully with a traditional Japanese garden. However, the room I initially received was not clean, with dust and a moldy bathroom. After complaining, I moved to a newly renovated room that still had some cleanliness issues. The elevators also had dust, which was disappointing for a supposedly upscale hotel. The pool area was in bad condition with rust stains and missing tiles. Dinner options at the hotel were overpriced and not very appealing. Overall, staff tried to help but lacked attention to detail in room maintenance.

I stayed in a Deluxe Double Room and the view was nice, but the room felt a bit dated. The bed was comfy enough, but I expected a bit more modern amenities. The bathroom was fine, but nothing stood out. It had decent toiletries, though. Overall, it just didn't wow me like I hoped it would.

The hotel has a vintage charm that I appreciated, especially the beautiful lobby with its traditional Japanese garden and waterfall. The location makes it easy to explore nearby attractions like Nijo Castle, just a short walk away. However, the room was quite outdated, and the carpet felt old and stained, which detracted from the experience.

Great location and convenient shuttle service
The location is fantastic, right next to Nijo Castle and a short walk to the subway. The shuttle service to the train station was incredibly convenient, making our travels around Kyoto much easier. However, the room could use some updates, particularly the bathroom, which felt a bit worn and not as clean as I would have liked.
